We do whatever it takes to keep you and your family safe.

At Mesko Glass, we invest in only the best products and we hire competent employees who are trained in the use of these products to assure that every auto glass installation is performed properly and professionally.

We also believe that Education is a key component to Auto Glass Safety. So, the following information has been gathered to help you better understand the role your windshield plays in your safety.

Did you know that the windshield does more than keep the weather and bugs out of the car?

In fact modern automobile and truck windshields do much more than that. The fact is that the windshield is part of the vehicle's Safety Restraint System (SRS), which is designed to keep vehicle occupants within the relative safety of the passenger compartment.

Windshields that are weakened by a crack or improperly installed compromise your safety.  If a weakened or improperly installed windshield becomes detached from the vehicle in an accident, the passengers could be ejected.

Here are a few common sense tips you can follow to ensure your windshield performs as intended:

• Repair or Replace a Damaged Windshield Immediately: Many small chips or surface cracks can be mended before getting any worse — requiring more time and money to fix. If the damage is beyond repair, replace it; your safety could be at risk.

• Use a Qualified Auto Glass Replacement Shop: Use an auto glass shop that endorses the Auto Glass Replacement Safety Standard (AGRSS) and trains their technicians to that standard.

• Insist on Quality Replacement Parts: At Mesko, we install OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) or replacement glass that is made with the same control standards. We also use only top of the line urethane products from the same company that many of the vehicle manufacturers use on the assembly line. You should accept no less.

It is vital to the well being of the driver and their family that windshield repair and replacement is done right.

At Mesko Glass, we use only the best products and our skilled employees are trained in proper installation techniques. Our auto glass installations come with a lifetime warranty covering our workmanship for as long as you own your vehicle.

At Mesko, we do whatever it takes so you can be confident your family is safe!

As per the National Glass Association, every vehicle owner should be aware of the Five Most Important Safety Functions Performed by the Windshield:

1. Visibility: Windshields keep bugs out of our eyes and highway debris from hitting our face, allowing for good visibility. However, stones and debris can fracture the glass causing dings that, if left unattended, can affect vision.

2. Supports Passenger Side Airbag Deployment: In many cars and trucks, the windshield supports the passenger side airbag during deployment. The passenger side airbag deploys at 200 MPH and the first thing it hits is the windshield. If the airbag knocked the windshield out, the passengers could be ejected.

3. Cushions Impact: The windshield cushions the blow if a vehicle occupant is thrown forward in a crash. Windshields are made of two layers of glass sandwiched around a layer of polyvinyl material. The glass may break but the polyvinyl layer is flexible and cushions the impact.

4. Keeps Occupants Within the Relative Safety of the Passenger Compartment: As part of the Vehicle's SRS - Safety Restraint System (which also includes air bags and seat belts), the windshield protects occupants by keeping them within the relative safety of the passenger compartment during accidents, head-on collisions and roll-overs. If the windshield becomes separated from the vehicle, the occupants could be ejected through the windshield opening and onto the roadway.

5. Provides Support to Help Prevent Roof Collapse: Today’s windshields provide much of the roof support roof thereby preserving the structural integrity of the passenger compartment, keeping it from collapsing and protecting the occupants.

As per Leo Cyr, Vice President of the National Glass Association's Auto Glass Division and Executive Director of CASPA:

"There is one common thread which connects all five windshield safety functions," says Cyr, "the windshield must remain securely in place on the vehicle. If the windshield dislodges for any reason, it will not perform as designed."

"If the original windshield is damaged," explains Cyr, "there are two choices. Either repair the original windshield or replace it.
